CADA · Cognitive Augmented Discovery Agent

From flagged transaction
to a decision you can defend.

CADA takes the transactions your monitoring flags and the triage cases your team opens, assembles the evidence, tests competing explanations including the lawful one, drafts the reason for suspicion and recommends the next action. Your officers decide.

How it works

Follow one alert through CADA

The work your analysts do by hand today, done the same way every time, with the reasoning written down.

  1. 01 · The challenge
    Alert queueIllustrative
    • Rapid in, rapid outHigh
    • Cash just under thresholdMed
    • Dormant account reactivatedMed
    • Third-party pass-throughHigh
    • Every one waits for an analyst

The queue of flagged transactions never ends.

Every alert needs evidence from several systems, the innocent explanation ruled out, the right offence named, and a reason for suspicion that survives review. Done by hand, case after case.

  2. 02 · The lead
    Flagged transactionHigh

Sent to CADA from your case manager

One flagged transaction leaves the queue.

CADA takes the alert your monitoring system raised, or a triage case, straight from your case manager. Nothing is replaced. The alert is where the investigation starts, not where it ends.

  3. 03 · The evidence
    EvidenceAssembling
    • 2 cited receipts totalling ₦128.5 million
    • 2 synthetic payers linked to the customer
    • The cited payments establish an inflow
    • A linked onward transfer is not established
    • Commercial purpose needs verification

Everything the case needs, in one place.

The payment path, counterparties and finding are shown together. CADA separates the observed receipts from the onward movement suggested by the pattern indicator, then marks the link that still needs checking in the bank's records.

  4. 04 · The explanations
    Competing explanationsHuman review
    • Movement patternConcentrated receipts could precede onward movement; the cited path does not yet prove that link.
    • Possible underlying offencesFraud and corruption are leads in the finding. Neither offence is established by the cited payments.
    • Lawful explanationAn ordinary commercial purpose remains possible until the bank verifies the payment purpose and relationships.

Competing explanations, including the lawful one.

CADA tests whether the observed money movement supports the pattern, whether a fraud or corruption lead has independent evidence, and whether a lawful payment purpose better explains the activity. These are investigative leads, not findings of guilt.

  5. 05 · The critique
    CADA's own critiqueEvidence test
    1. 1The linked finding raises a review lead.
    2. 2The cited receipts do not show the same funds moving onward.
    3. 3Fraud and corruption still need independent offence evidence.

The concern is reduced after verification; an officer must decide the next step.

It argues with itself, and shows you when the signal falls.

Before recommending anything, CADA checks the linked payments against the finding, separates what was observed from what was inferred, and shows why the initial concern weakened.

  6. 06 · The draft

A drafted reason for suspicion, and the next action.

The draft connects the payments, finding, limitations and lawful alternative. The bank's officer checks its own records and decides whether the grounds warrant filing an STR.

    CADA drafts. Your officer decides.

Agree or override, with the reasoning and evidence on file either way. A decision not to report is as documented as a decision to report.

Two observed receipts enter the customer account; the onward link still needs verification.

Why now

Built to sit with your stack, not replace it.

The CBN's Baseline Standards for Automated AML Solutions (10 March 2026) give banks 18 months to run automated AML, from monitoring and screening to investigation workflows and regulatory reporting, and require AI models to be independently tested every year.

Most banks already own monitoring, screening and case management. What they rarely have is the reasoning in between: whether the alert identified the right concern, what was missed, and what to do next. That is where CADA works.

Trust

Crime evolves. CADA improves with your bank.

Not a static platform

  • Quarterly updates, included: local and international sanctions lists, national and sectoral risk assessments, new typologies and indicators, and predicate-offence changes.
  • Quarterly tuning reviews with your compliance officers, so CADA is configured to your use cases and what matters most to your institution.
  • Your analysts' decisions sharpen CADA at your bank over time.

CADA at Bank A is not CADA at Bank B.

  • Isolated by construction: each institution's data, configuration and tuning live in its own partition. Nothing is retrieved across institutions, ever.
  • No pooled learning: what CADA learns at your bank stays at your bank.
  • Nigerian law: a data processing agreement before any data moves, consistent with the NDPA 2023; data stays in Nigeria.

It cannot invent a finding

CADA's deterministic engine finds, tests and ranks. The language model drafts the wording and runs a bounded critique; it cannot create a finding.

Switch the model off, CADA still runs

The escalation rule is fixed in the software and readable by your MLRO, never the opinion of a model.

Honest about what it assesses

The 27 predicate offences in Nigerian law, mapped to the FATF's 21 categories. Every case states which offences were assessed and which were not.

No outside calls by default

CADA cannot reach an outside network to run its model. Any change is deliberate and recorded on every case.

Signals labelled honestly

Signals are ordinal and marked uncalibrated when they are. No black-box score presented as a probability.

Scoring cannot change quietly

Every change produces a new version stamp checked before the system will run.

Deployment

Fits the way your bank runs.

Our story

Built since 2023. Rebuilt as CADA in 2026.

CADA began in 2023 as FIAS, our first-generation analysis system, and was rebuilt as CADA in 2026 around one idea: an alert is a lead, not a conclusion. We know the problem because we have worked it, and we would rather improve CADA with your team than hand you a platform and leave.
